The first story Jose ever wrote was a play-by-play recreation of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. His favorite parts were when the evil fairy turned into a dragon and when the little trolls beat up Prince Charming.
These days he writes stories that come from his own imagination, but he still thinks a troll punching a prince is pretty funny. There’s just no helping some people.
Having dabbled in book and film criticism, along with the occasional short story, for a number of years, Jose turned to children’s literature once he realized that the happiest reading experiences of his life happened when he was a kid. He gets to relive this happiness on a daily basis working as a children’s librarian, and his wish for the future is to make books that kids can get excited about as much as he did.
Jose lives in Southwest Florida with his wife, daughter, and Minnie, the dog.
